Neighbors serving neighbors.

That’s Weston Volunteer Fire & Rescue.

Bravery, Dedication, Community.

Protecting Property & Lives Since 1896

The Weston Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department provides fire protection and emergency response across 55 square miles in western Saunders County, Nebraska, including the village of Weston, Highway 79, and Highway 92. We also offer mutual aid to surrounding fire districts, ensuring comprehensive regional support.

Our Mission:

Suppression Is Our Business, Prevention Our Goal. The WVFRD will recruit and train volunteers in aspects of firefighting techniques to assure a creditable and reliable foundation of firefighters and equipment to serve the Village of Weston, the Weston Rural Fire District, and surrounding communities including our designated Mutual Aid Fire Districts. In practice, mitigate all types of emergency incidents while prioritizing life safety, incident stabilization, property conservation, and striving for effective prevention to make our community, rural districts, and surrounding communities a safer place to live, work, and play.

Our Focus:

We All Go Out, We All Come Home. It all starts with the members of the WVFRD and their personal desire to be a part of the organization and what it stands for. Without trained personnel to assure a creditable and reliable foundation, it would not be possible to fulfill the goals of this department. When you join the fire department your greatest act of bravery had been accomplished…what you do after that is all in the line of duty, but always remember that the company is only as good as the least trained member of the crew. Our safety is paramount, as we must take care of ourselves in order to help others.
